Busy Holler

The holler where my mother was born, Busy, Kentucky, has been flooded this past week. A third cousin of mine posted on Facebook that she was surrounded by water & had been watching cars in the creek in front of her house all night, or I would not have known about the flooding until the Today Show came on at 7:00am.

I'm disappointed that the local news people had no clue what was going on in eastern Kentucky, even though it was a flash flood, and it took everyone by surprise. Shortly after I tweeted about it, the crews from the local news stations started talking about their departure to Eastern Kentucky. Day late, dollar short.

Today we know the flooding was much worse than the news folks told us, and as Governor Beshear said, the worst was yet to come. There are still bodies being found, and they will continue to be found, there are people -- children missing. It is so sad it is heartbreaking.

I ask you to pray for the people of Appalachia and for

Peace,

Kimmy
