I moved to Southern Ohio just in time for football, it seems.
My good friend who has Reds season tickets has enjoyed their (somewhat successful) year, but it's time for the Reds to take a break, play some golf or go to Florida for the winter maybe. The baseball season is over in this city and only the Series-bound teams are alive in October. At any rate, every football game you want to see is happening now!
Last weekend began early when the Bengals beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh on Thursday night. I've never seen the news folk so excited, and I lived in Lexington the last 4 decades, where the UK basketball Cats rule the day. It was fun to see the many angles covered by WLWT, the channel I choose.
Then the University of Cincinnati played Notre Dame ... and WON an exciting game in Indiana. It's been called U.C.'s most important win ever. Ever!
Also, University of Kentucky's football guys beat FLORIDA! Oh mylanta, I could not believe it when I heard that news. Also, I heard grandson Cooper sacked the q-back last Friday night! Yeehaw!
I love football, and as a kid would go with my Father to watch my brothers play on a peewee team that was "undefeated and unscored on." We sat in snow to watch their games lol, and when you get the chance to see your siblings tacke and get tackled, it's a life lesson you won't soon forget.
My brothers were 3 and 5 years younger, and even though we got along, the discipline from organized sports led to a more harmonious life for all of us.
Does that make any sense? I hope so, and hope you catch a good game this weekend!
Peace,
Kimmy
