If it's September, though, gentle times are ahead, right? The sweltering heat will go to Miami and leave this old lady alone for six months or so, yeehaw!
The football games will bring back sweet memories of our youth, i.e., marching in the band, riding to Frisch's, etc. lol, and oh yeah, weekly preparations, musically and pep-wise, for The Game. When I was a kid, football games were THE focal point of the week!
Today, "kids" are more focused on video games, and the Friday night games involve Playstation, not gridiron plays. Now, with the 'Demic, what will happen to the children playing sports? What are the chances they'll be scouted by colleges? And how safe is it for them, to be knocking heads with their opponents during a virus surge?
In this year of pandemic overdrive, it is important to note the threat of the Delta branch of the Corona virus river has indeed reached my area, and yours, and that of your friends and family. It's scary, and though my faith is strong, it's being shaken, that's for certain.
Today, I'm wearing the mask, even if it's only downstairs to check mail. I'm washing everything I see, especially my hands, and I'm giving my Rosary a sincere and prayerful hour to ask the Lord's blessing on all my lambchops, followed by the Our Father. I'll play my songs on piano and ukulele and embrace the love our Father grants as He wraps us into the day.
God be with y'all, til we meet again. 🙏
Peace and love,
Kimmy
