I am not sure if everyone realizes how wonderful the next week is going to be, as America reopens its doors, and welcomes its guests again. I went out Tuesday night and had A-blast, hugging my friends and acting like the World War II was over and I was a nurse in Times Square. It was wonderful. Now, I am packing to move to Cincinnati on June 11th , and I have collected so much over the last 8 years. I am going to need a dozen bodybag sized garbage bags to empty out the excess and refuse, or as my late friend Joe Harkins would say the debris. Pronounced entirely the wrong way, like deb-riss, but he was a coal operator, like the kind hearted hooker, he was a sweetheart of a rascal -- who was actually the only layman I knew who read the entire Bible, cover to cover -- and to hear him say that was nothing but joy. I miss you Joe Day Harkins III. Cancer takes some of the best people, doesn't it?
At any rate, back to my subject, whatever it is. I am thrilled to announce to you and all my lambchops that you can come out of your hiding places and celebrate liberally! (I am saying that in my best Glenda the Good Witch voice); I went out and drank and hugged all of my friends the other night, and nothing happened!
You can go out and hear music, comedy, or go out and eat dinner, or better, Thursday Night Live in downtown Lexington, starting June 1st and enjoy that, too.
Meanwhile, it would not be a bad idea if all the men who have straggly beards would shave them off! Nothing would make me happier than to see the shaven faces of the good looking men in this town when I go out to Thursday Night Live on June the 1st. It will be the last time I will get to see many of my Lexington friends, so I hope to see a lot of familiar faces at that event. Speaking of shaven, a nicely manicured face is always adorable 😍
Speaking from a couple of days' worth of experience, is always best to look your best when you're up close and personal ... with a lot of people, that is.
Some of the people I saw at the Henry Clay Pub the other night looked wonderful, many of them were attorneys I used to work for lol, but now they're all tan and you can tell they've been on their boats this hot Spring lol. At any rate, some of the folks looked a little haggard, and bless his heart someone needs a shower and a shave, to put it bluntly.
JP Pennington, always well groomed, looked wonderful as did the whole band called the Sons of the Frigidaires however you spell frigidaires. All the guys if they had beards were well manicured, and they all smelled wonderful! The only thing that was missing was Nick Stump. He used to play with that bunch, and his element of musicality added just the right bent to that crazy to make it one of the most incredible musical sounds you will ever hear.
I love Lexington, but I cannot wait to move to Cincinnati and see my lifetime friends and family ♡
A new hope is born, celebrating it liberally is the way to go!
Love speaks in hugs,
Kimmy
