Sons of Fridgedaires!

Oh my Lanta! I am so gladiola I went to the Henry Clay pub tonight to hear my favorite band, the Sons of the Frigidaires, which includes  Roger BonDurant, JP Pennington, Rex Hart, Bob Goff, Jim Gleason, and a few others whose names I cannot remember right now because I had a big fat scotch tonight and had a marvelous time!

So I took a bunch of photos and video...whew!  I just got a new Samsung phone, and I don't know how good the video turned out, but of course I cannot upload it here!

At any rate, the band played Dire Straits, Dolly Parton (!), Bob Dylan, The Beatles (!) and closed with Exile hit, KISS YOU ALL OVER.

Well, they then played an encore, because the crowd insisted, of corset.

It felt wonderful to be back out listening to fabulous music again.

It felt sublime to drink and enjoy the company of friends and strangers again.

I felt human again, y'all, to touch my musical friends, hug them and enjoy their updates on the past year and hell, they are dealing with a harsh reality, too, just like me.

I will say this. JP Pennington was a nice man when I met him at the bowling alley bar in 1985, and he is a nice man today. It was certainly a fabulous feeling to talk to my old friend again and see that he is still a polite and kind person. He hath not changed with the pandemic, he did not turn bitter like me, coz I'm sorta grouchy lol.

So kudos and clamclaps to the lambchop staff at the Henry Clay pub, to Gin Warrington from CCI, who I saw, and was happy to hug, and to all the people I saw tonight, including Missy Johnston (!) ~ how wonderful it was to heal by listening to music by my favorites. "JOLENE, JOLENE, JOLENE, JOLEEEE-EEN!  I'M BEGGING OF YOU, PLEASE DON'T TAKE MY MAN!"

Music is God's gift for us in a time like this, is it not? I truly miss singing with my choir at rehearsal every week, but tonight was a balm in my Gilead!

Pray for peace,

Kimmy

P.S.  I do not know the spelling of frigidaires, so I rely upon the ever mighty power of auto correct, which I also called auto corrupt lollylambs.
