I Can See July. . .

Melody • Sammy • Cooper • Shelby

Is it possible that July is just around the corner? Could June almost be over in this year of the Rona? Is it possible the rest of the year aka the second half of 2020 in the 21st century will be a time of healing and of Health?

I had a marvelous trip to Northern Kentucky and back over the weekend. I saw all of my in-laws from 1973 and my grandkids, because my grandson Sammy was celebrating his graduation from my alma mater, Conner Senior High School in Hebron,  Kentucky!

Funny thing, I was always proud to be selected to Women of Conner. It was supposed to be a big deal, top 10% nominated by a teacher and voted unanimously into a very elite group and I thought my picture was in the front hallway of the school -- along with the other Women of Conner, of course.

As it turns out that's not true...not anymore, anyway. Turns out 48 years later, I'm not special at all, as I was told by my lovely grandchildren. All their pix are there now! At any rate, almost all of them have graduated from Conner High now, except the youngest, Cooper.

Cooper tells me the Dragon Ball Z shirts that I send to him for his birthdays are always too big for him. I ordered them from the Chinese company "wish," and their stuff is always way too small for me. So I've got to get my Gigi game up when I order another shirt for him.

I had a wonderful time on Sunday when my grandson Sammy took me to Mount Adams, where I lived in 1975. I was only there for about a year, but I could see the bend in the Ohio river from my rooftop apartment. I loved living there, but as a single mom, it was impossible to stay.

Sammy is so much fun to talk to, and I really enjoyed bonding with him while going up to Mount Adams and looking at the view from different points in area.

My hero, Samuel Elliston

The Elliston family has always been good to me, every one of them hugged me and were sweet as pie. That's the way I remember the Elliston  family, and Sammy is an Elliston. He is young, a prolific rapper, and a little bit wild, but I love him just as much as I love my son. And that's a LOT!

Peace,
Kimmy
