The Nude Returns... and It's Not Alone
The Lexington Art League, Central Kentucky's oldest and largest visual arts organization, kicks off its 2013 season this Friday with a trio of exhibitions that explore how we see ourselves and how we connect with others.
The Nude,
an exploration of the figure in contemporary art now in its 27th year,
is one of LAL's and Lexington's most anticipated exhibitions.
This year
it is joined by My Mother, My Sister, Myself, a collection of portraits by Gaela Erwin who is departing from self portraiture for the first time in 20 years, and If I Lost You Would I Cry, an extraordinary ceramics installation by Sarah Gross, assistant professor of art at Berea College.
These
exhibitions are just the beginning of what is shaping up to be an
exciting year at LAL, art for everyone.
