First Dude Almost Last In Line

FIRST DUDE  is a STEPHEN GOT EVEN colt and makes an interesting longshot. His workouts are impressive, but the big bay boy ultimately failed in the Derby and needs to run the best race of his life to win and be blanketed with Black-Eyed Susans.  However, he seems to be a late bloomer, and therefore has the tools to turn in a surprise performance.

FIRST DUDE's owner is Donald Dizney and he is trained by Dale Romans.  Jockey Ramon Dominguez will be aboard when FIRST DUDE loads into the 11th post position, and at this point, he is 20-1, but by race time tomorrow, his odds are likely to be much higher.

What I like about this horse is that his sire STEPHEN GOT EVEN is son of 1992 Belmont winner and Horse of the Year, A.P. INDY.  My concern for the horses usually has to do with their ability to run long distance races well, and he's got the pedigree to marathon it out with the other 11 horses in the field.

I also love the above photo that my friend Z (Photos by Z) took this week at Pimlico.  Is that sweet, or what?  love it!
