"Nickel Creek Meets the Beatles" at Next WoodSongs

 WoodSongs Old Time Radio Hour
Every Monday night, Michael Johnathon and his wonderful all-volunteer crew bring up-and-coming musical artists to the Kentucky Theatre for another worldwide broadcast of WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour.  If you haven't been to WoodSongs yet, you owe it to yourself to go!  Here's the lineup for the February 1, 2010 show:
Act of Congress

ACT OF CONGRESS hails from Birmingham, Alabama. The band's organic sound (think "Nickel Creek meets the Beatles) is rapidly gathering attention throughout the country. The band just released their debut CD Declaration last year. In two short years, the band has been recognized by the likes of Paste Online, SXSW, Disney, and Billboard.  Check out their high octane version of the Beatles' "Paperback Writer"  actofcongressmusic.com

Ashleigh FlynnASHLEIGH FLYNN has been praised by NYC's Village Voice. This Oregon-by-way-of-Kentucky songwriter grew up foot stomping along the Ohio River as the steamboats and barges made their way to the muddy Mississippi. She has released three critically acclaimed independent CDs and her latest, American Dream, is her finest to date. Last year she was invited to play the giant Tennessee festival Bonnaroo. ashleighflynn.net

WoodSongs tapes Monday's at 6:45 pm (EST) at the historic Kentucky Theatre, 214 Main St, Lexington, KY.
