Twisties

Recalling the past week of Olympic competitions, it is all too understandable why the "twisties" make performing difficult.

If I wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, I can't hit the seat of the commode, let alone something as small as a balance beam.

These athletes prepare for years in order to compete at the Olympics. Their parents have invested time, too. They watch these kids fail, over and over until they improve and move on.

For anyone to consider they're just not doing their best is mind boggling.

To run a race is difficult, or to swim at the rate of a world class butterfly-er or backstroker takes a helluva lot of planning.

I was on a swim team once, barely made it through the practice sessions. It takes so so much to compete, folks never know unless they've tried.

Having said that, I'll say this. It's time to wake up, smell the coffee and cheer your athletes home.

Remember the tears of these post pandemic Olympians. Recall the emotional tornado our Simone Biles went through just trying to maintain the "G.O.A.T." mantle put on her by the media.

Let's be kinder and gentler, why don't we?

Please pray for their peace!

Love,

Kimmy
