In the 1970s, my mother and I went to the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, to see what they had for sale. It had closed down briefly, and at that time, my mother and I bought a few rugs, some crystal doorknobs, as well as a beautiful Winslow Homer print, "Nor'easter," with a stormy sea thundering onto seaworn lumber.
I've always loved it, and am grateful it wasn't sold by Hardesty, like my father's Secretariat winning the Belmont photo...another drop in my resentment julep, lambchops. For years, I have asked the Lord to remove the hate in my heart, and every morning I want to be happy about my ordeal, because it has strengthened me!
Since I am moving soon, I'm selling nearly everything I have so the load will be lighter. Pray for me, willya?
Peace to y'all,
Kimmy
