I Am the Vaccine

Happy Easter to everyone who observes and celebrates the day! Also, happy Passover, and full moon, and Blackberry Winter if there be such a thing.
About the last three? I'm just kidding, I don't know that any of those three are true? I've only heard of their existence...but not recently.
So, I am a little bit troubled on this Easter following a year of a pandemic. I am glad that I am alive, but it has been a hell of a year, has it not?
I do know that my youngest grandchild, Cooper Elliston, has been in the state wrestling tournament this week, and I hope he did well. When I move to Cincinnati, I hope to actually see him wrestle next year!
Also, I have big plans for Thanksgiving! I plan to make a turkey, and have my grandchildren come over and eat all the black olives they want! It will be so much fun to plan, cook & serve a perfect Thanksgiving
dinner for my grandies. I became a friend of someone on Twitter recently, someone famous who I really admire. As it turned out, they asked me to donate $30,000 to their scholarship fund! Therefore, my Lenten journey has been a little bit of a downer, although today watching David Shirey give his sermon and hearing musical presentations by my church filled up my mental Easter basket with lots of wonderful candy, if you will.
However, during his sermon, David talked about having attended rally for folks who were protesting the hate that has been demonstrated against asian-americans in the recent days. The woman that spoke had said that, "you are the vaccination, you are the vaccine."
That thought has been rolling around in my head ever since I first heard it, but it's true. We are the vaccine for hatred in this world; we are the medicine that needs to be taken and meted out.
We possess the balm of love, love that was in Jesus's heart, and is in the hearts of many faithful, in my heart when I practice what I sing. there have been many challenges in my life, many times when I have needed to read The Parables Jesus told his disciples or refer to my Bible for advice to get through the day. I have needed to be the prodigal son, I have needed to be Mary Magdalene, I have needed to be Job.
Many times when we face adversity, we don't think that God is near, and that is when he is the closest.
In the bulb, there is a flower, in the seed, and Apple tree, in cocoons, a hidden promise: butterflies will soon be free...
I shall evermore rejoice in singing the praises of my Lord. May this be true today, and always.
Peace,
Kimmy
