Week of Woe

The third week in July is always a tough one for me, because it is the week we buried my mother. It is the week my baby sister Kelli was born and the week my brother Marshall was born.

Mother died on the 17th, and her funeral was on the 19th, which is my sister's birthday. Every year, I tried to have a party for her and make her feel better, because she's always depressed on her birthday.

In our lives, things happen. And the sooner we learn to accept life the way it comes instead of the way we wanted to go, the better off we will be eventually.
Love Sammy and Darcy!

My grandson had a wreck on Friday night, it totaled his car, and I am worried to death about him. Sammy is fine and back at work, his girlfriend Darcy is okay and home with her lovely mother, but my daughter-in-law has decided to tell the world that because of his accident that Sammy is an addict.

I don't think Sammy is an addict. Sammy is full of love for everyone, even for his mother, who constantly controls everything she possibly can.

I am troubled over this break in the family unit. It is very hard too when someone is hating on you. It really hurts. When a mother hates her child, emotions are raw. Those emotions need to be marinated a little bit and broken down into more gentle fiber to be swallowed.

I'm going to give myself time to forgive my daughter-in-law, and to love my grandson, and to reconcile myself with the fact that my son barely spoke to me for 20 years, until last week.

Life is not always easy, I know that. However, there comes a time when we have to realize that the Lord loves us, even if we make mistakes, do not obey him, or simply live our lives in a way which others disapprove.

I cannot contribute to my grandson's faults. If he is faulty because he takes drugs, that is his choice. I will encourage him to do safe things, to not drink and drive, to love everyone like he does, and to pray to the Lord every single day. The Lord has gotten me through so much, and he will get you through a lot too, Sammy. His eye, after all Is on the Sparrow! I love You.
