Another Crappy Day in Paradise

Of course, we lose famous people every year. I remember 2016 was a bad year for that. This year, we have lost a lot of beloved stars.
Fred Willard

Today, the news that made my heart skip a beat was the death of people who deeply inspired me - both artistically and professionally, 86-year-old Fred Willard, and 70 year old Phyllis George.

Phyllis George was a former Miss America, sports broadcaster, and first lady of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Like Jerry Stiller, Fred Willard's name on a cast list always causes me to give that show a go. If I am watching Modern Family, and it's dragging for me, Willard will visit as Phil Dunphy's father, and their relationship is so wacky and perfect, it is impossible to not watch the show. That was Fred Willard's commodity, not necessarily to be a scene stealer as much as he was a scene weaver.

He could make a show or a scene sparkle and rock like a big 1970s concert in the Bubbles Room somewhere in the sky LOL. Fred Willard was everything funny about my lifetime.

Whatever Fred Willard starred in, I knew it was going to be hilarious. Even if he played an off-ball character that turned out to be sinister in some way, you knew in his heart that Fred was just a good guy. That was the soul of his character on Modern Family. All of the other characters he played, like in Best in Show, and Spinal Tap, we're all examples of what an excellent performer he was. I am really going to miss Fred Willard, I think he was 86 years old.

At 70 years old, Phyllis George Brown was a Kentuckian at the end; she died at UK Hospital in Lexington, just a few blocks from my home. Phyllis was admired around the world, and when she became a first lady of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, many people disparage her oh, no matter what she wore or did or said, it was not enough. I think that was mainly because she was originally from Texas.

Now, I hope she is remembered more kindly during the historical reflections that will take place this week. Apparently she and her family went to my church a long time ago, in the late 70s.
Jerry Stiller

I am watching the salute to the seniors who have graduated in this 2020 pandemic year. LeBron James is speaking at the moment, and I really admire LeBron. I did not like him when UK players had to play against him, but in his personal life, LeBron James has been a great role model for today's young men and women. He is admiring everyone who is following the orders to stay home. It is easy to stay home for me, because I only have myself to look out for.

However, for anyone else who has someone to consider when they spend a penny or go out the door, I pray that you will keep your relationship strong, and that God will bless you with the strength and courage it takes to get through this tough time.

I wish everyone
peace,
Kimmy
