Kentucky Derby horse DADDY NOSE BEST: Travels well, likes all surfaces, royal pedigree

DADDY NOSE BEST, owned by Cathy and Bob Zollars has leisurely arrived at Churchill and will enter the Derby gate after a nice six week vaycay.   Must be nice, right?  He likes to run on the turf, but has shown favor on polytrack and dirt in his three years on this racing earth.

Garret Gomez will be atop DADDY NOSE BEST,  a charter member of the first SCAT DADDY crop.

DADDY NOSE BEST’S damsire is none other than THUNDER GULCH, the 25 to 1 longshot who surprised and  beat all 1995 Derby contenders, fell short to his stablemate in the Preakness, but won the Belmont, and lambchops, 2 out of 3 ain’t bad, especially when it comes to triple crown talk. (D.Wayne Lucas trained THUNDER GULCH, who earned nearly $3 million in his racing career).

Watch for the silks of green and gold!
