Dear Batfans,
You know how long we’ve been doing this Bat thing, right? Almost 13 years! Hard to believe until we check ourselves in the mirror or try to do a sit-up, but there it is. And in all those years, we’ve stuck together through thick and thin, hell and high water, in sickness and in health, ‘til Keith Richards croaks. Because that’s what girlfriends-who-rock do. But guess what? We now, sadly, have to bid one Bat goodbye! The gorgeous, fabulous, funny, brilliant, inimitable Queen of Understatement, Susan Thomas, is leaving the Bat cave for sunny Florida! FSU made her an offer she couldn’t refuse, so she didn’t! (We have it on good authority that there are cabana boys written into her contract.) Susan has graciously agreed to hang (upside-down, of course!) with us through the end of June, but after that, she must fly like a Bat out of you-know-where. We know all of you will want to bid her so long, farewell , auf Wiedersehen, adieu, goodbye, hasta la vista, how could you? So here are the times you may do it. Presents are not discouraged, by the way. Susan likes wine, jewelry, chocolate, cash, and bald-headed men.
