Out of Body


The Little/Gaines Artist series invites you to join them on Tuesday, October 12 a for Out of Body - at Niles Gallery, Lucille Little Fine Arts Library, University of Kentucky campus
a collaborative art presentation by Bianca Spriggs and Kremena Todorova.

Bianca Spriggs, an Affrilachian poet and Cave Canem fellow, has been recognized as "the new standard bearer for the Affrilachian Poets." Author of "Kaffir Lilly" and "How Swallowtails Become Dragons," Spriggs has also been published in anthologies such as "New Growth: Recent Kentucky Writings" and "America! What's
My Name?" Her work has also appeared in Union State Magazine, Caduceus, Alehouse, Torch and The Appalachian Heritage Magazine. Spriggs holds degrees from both Transylvania University and the University of Wisconsin. She is also the creator and programmer of both the Kentucky Women Writers Conference Gypsy Poetry Slam and the Darkroom Showcase, and serves as a lecturer for the Kentucky Humanities Council.

Collaborating with Spriggs will be writer and photographer Kremena Todorova, assistant professor and program director of English at Transylvania University.

The Little/Gaines Artist Series is a popular collaborative series designed to showcase the work of Kentucky artists. A fusion of artists from varying genres and mediums, the series will feature six Little/Gaines Artists accompanied by one or more collaborators in visual, literary, musical or dramatic arts.
