At our service or prayer and reflection on the passion of Jesus the Christ today, we meditated on Scripture from the Gospel of St. John.
Here is the prayer we shared, I hope it may bring meaning to your Good Friday:
Holy and everliving God, look graciously on this your family
for which our Savior Jesus Christ was willing to be betrayed,
and to suffer death upon the cross;
and grant us to grow into the fullness of new life in Christ
who now is alive and glorified
with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen
Arrested in the garden, Jesus is questioned, denied by Peter, again questioned by Pilate, beaten and crowned, condemned to death.
Jesus is taken to Golgotha, crucified, died on the cross and buried.
Holy God, holy and merciful, holy and just, have mercy upon us.
Peace be with you today, and always,
Kimmy
