Yay, it's Saturday, December 12, just 12 days to go until Christmas Eve, which is when I will probably be running around finding last minute stocking stuffers.
Meanwhile, I am listening to some great tunes on MixMas -- could do with a little more music, and a little less John Tesh, to tell you the truth, but I love all the carols I hear, even the sappy ones, like that poor kid buying shoes for his Mom. *tear* Anyway, at this moment, I'm hearing, Mary, Did You Know? and fa-la-la-la-la-LOVing it.
Back to whatcha gonna do this Saturday, though. Well the Lexington Ballet is presenting Nutcracker: Up Close, at the Guignol Theater at UK tonight at 8pm.
Also the popular Holler Poets Series is lending a hand to Tuska Foundation,Featured writers Rebecca Howell, Donna Ison, Katerina Stoykova-Klemer and Holler founder Eric Sutherland. Music will be by Warren Byrom (Big Maracas and the Swells). The benefit begins at 7pm at the Tuska House, 147 Old Park Avenue. Your $10 suggested donation will help preserve the work and residence of legendary artist and UK Professor, John Tuska.
My friends tell me that AGL's Santaland Diaries (by David Sedaris) had a great opening night and they thoroughly enjoyed it. It starts at 7:30, tickets are selling fast, though so don't put it off - make your reservations now!
The Christmas Presence (by Beth Kirchner) will return tonight at 8pm at the Woodford Falling Springs Arts Center.
