A prayer for Love.

God of life and all its mystery;

Lean down to us an angel,

light a star,

kindle a Christmas, 

manger us your peace,

and whisper in us the name of Love.

Amen.

We prayed that prayer in worship today, the fourth Sunday of Advent, when we lit the Candle of Love.  I was encouraged this morning when a fellow choir member told me she found a prayer here recently, one she passed along to her friends for inspiration.  It made me so glad to hear that, because sometimes I hesitate to post prayers here. Thankfully, that hesitation never quite makes me stop it altogether, does it? It's just another example of how Christmas joy can be found in an unexpected source of Love.
