WoodSongs Welcomes Battlefield Band and Pauly Zarb

On Monday, October 19, at the Kentucky Theater, Michael Johnathon's WoodSongs will showcase two more fabulous artists -- a Scottish folk group and an Australian performer.

BATTLEFIELD BAND from Scotland have been performing on the international scene for more than three decades, and is one of the premier Celtic bands in the world. Founded in 1969 and named after the 'Battlefield' area of Glasgow, the band pioneered the integration of bagpipes with fiddle, keyboards, guitar and voice, mix the old songs and tunes with new self-penned material, playing them on a unique fusion of ancient and modern instruments. Their new CD is Zama Zama ... try your luck explores the greed, disasters, human resilience and victories inherent in the search and exploitation of different sources of wealth. battlefieldband.co.uk

2] PAULY ZARB is originally from Australia. His home base is now Bardstown, KY while traveling the country performing his rootsy musical blend of "one man band" style of folk and country. His music combines keyboards, drums, hi-hat, guitar, flute, pan pipes, tin whistles, accordion, harmonica, digerridoo ... often all in the same song. He and his brother received the Best Folk Album award at the Queensland Sunny Music Awards in 2001. http://www.paulyzarb.com/

WoodSongs tapes Mondays at 6:45 pm (EST) at the historic Kentucky Theatre, 214 Main St, Lexington, Kentucky.
