Wig Out this Saturday!

This weekend, WIG OUT will present its 5th Annual Pageant of Wigs.

On Saturday, April 25, from 8:00pm to 12:00 a.m., Old Tarr Distillery Complex will be the site an evening of wig wearing fun presented by WIG OUT.

The soiree will feature an auction, special eats from Mia's, gourmet chocolates by Ruth Hunt Candy Co. with an open bar, dancing and live music from 2Kool. You can find Old Tarr in the avant garde Distillery District (899 Manchester Street, Lexington, KY 40504).

The tickets are $50 Per Person In advance ($60 At The Door).

B.Y.O.W. BRING YOUR OWN WIG

All proceeds from the evening help Wig Out continue to provide chemotherapy patients with financial assistance to purchase wigs. Insurance often doesn't cover the cost of a wig, though it is essential to the emotional well being of patients. Wig Out's mission is to help those who couldn't otherwise afford one get the wig they need.

History
The idea for Wig Out, Inc. was born on a beautiful Kentucky April night in 2005 when a group of relatives and friends all wearing outrageous wigs rallied in support of a friend whose life was turned upside down with the prospect of chemotherapy and its side effects. The fact that so many friends came and let their hair down was a psychological turning point in her fight against this dreadful disease.

The idea of helping other cancer victims deal with the reality and the devastation of life's many unsuspecting knocks was set in motion that first Wig Out night. Five Wig Outs later, they have made this reality come true.

Wig Out is a nonprofit foundation. This past year alone, Wig Out spent close to $15,000 on wigs for cancer victims. "It is our hope to continue growing as a foundation and to ease in this small way the psychological pain associated with chemotherapy and hair loss."
