Atomic Rain Going to the Derby

by Kim Thomas

Atomic Rain by Smart Strike out of Paradise Pond is trained by Kelly Breen. He is at Monmouth and is being shipped to Churchill today with plans to enter the Derby.

Because
Quality Road and Square Eddie were pulled out of the Kentucky Derby and another horse, (Take the Points) is going to the
Preakness instead of running in the Derby,
Atomic Rain is in.

He hasn't earned much money, and the best thing that can be said about his record is that he came in fourth in the Wood Memorial, bless his heart!

However, it oftentimes happens that a horse like
Atomic Rain will come from nowhere and win the Derby. Happens all the time. In fact, I usually just bet $2 to win on all the horses; I've only lost money on that kind of bet a few times. It's risky, but folks, that's what horse racing's all about.

pray for peace, y'all,
Kimmy
