I'll Have a Myrtletini...Stirred, and Shaken

by Kim Thomas
Tonight's the night! After you've gone to the wine tasting at Wine+Market, you might want to stroll on down Second Street to the Carnegie Center for Learning & Literacy, as the wise and witty Donna Ison will be hosting a reading and signing for her debut novel, "The Miracle of Myrtle: Saint Gone Wild."

This novel, which centers on a surprise appearance by the Virgin Mary's evil twin at a small town Kentucky Ham Festival, is sure to be irreverent, entertaining and as Donna says, "not your Great Aunt's Southern Saga." Donna's reading will be far from your traditional author event.

A reception will follow at Mia's Restaurant and Bar with a gift basket give-a-way, live music, and the premier of the Myrtletini specialty cocktail.

When: 6:30 to 10:00 p.m.
Where: The Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning and Mia's Restaurant and Bar

Donna Ison is well known in the Lexington theatre community as well as the popular Holler Poets Series. Donna will make you laugh, she'll make you cry, but most of all, she'll jar you out of your winter doldrums with her fabulously hilarious style.
