Open the door

"Who at my door is standing? Patiently Drawing Near? Who entrance is demanding, whose is the voice I hear?"

The hymn of our forefathers and foremums is an Advent hymn that emphasizes how shameful and unworthy we feel when Christmastime draws near, yet the Lord wants to know us and draw us in, so the word is "knock, and the door will open ... if thou will heed My calling, I will abide with thee!"

I can't wait for Christmas this year, can you? After two years of little Christmas entertainment, we will all be thirsty for eggnog, I reckon. I'll be playing carols and singing like Mr. Magoo!

My birthday is after Christmas, but before the New Years Eve bashes begin. It's the most pitiful date for an annual celebration, so I try not to worry about whether or not I blow out any candles. But I do love cake...

I know it is 6 months away, but I'm already excited, knowing Cincinnati is a massively religious city and there will be music galore, come Advent.

It will be Saylor and Brody's first Christmas, so clamclaps and cranberries! This great granny will cherish every moment of the Season.

Knock and the door shall open...indeed a door of magic and music, and a Messiah!

Peace,

Kimmy
