Holy Saturday

It is Saturday morning, I am watching the news, we are still in the middle of a pandemic, and tomorrow is Easter.

I usually make a meal for my family on Easter, but this year I have no food. Apart from all of that, my family is not permitted to visit me due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Mom would want my
siblings to be there!

Honestly, I'm a little relieved I don't have to make dinner for a slew of people who will never show up. It is a little disheartening to get up at 6 a.m. and make a turkey dinner for a handful of people and have them call right before dinner and say they're just too exhausted to make it. That happens almost every year.

For everyone who who still has a family that will show up on holidays, I am very jealous. I will admit it. It is not a nice way to be, but I can't help it. I am not a perfect Christian, but I do try to help my family have good Holiday spirit. That is getting to be an exercise in futility.
