Summer's Gone Batty ... a message from my favorite Bat ...

This message is being brought to you via my email inbox,
as told by Missy Johnston, my favorite Bat!   Thanks to
Missy for always knowing when and where to stick a fang...

Helloooo, Batfans!

Can you believe that summer is almost over?   Can you believe that we’ve been able to get through the past 3 months without having to actually put on a bathing suit?  If you ask us, all this rain has been a freakin’ blessing, for obvious reasons:  no visible cellulite, no bikini waxes, and no worrying about whether or not we’re either spilling out of those ineffective cami-bras or not filling them up.  Win, win, win.

So, to celebrate the end of the season and the beginning of fall (sweaters! long sleeves! boots and leggings!), we’re gonna rock the house at Natasha’s Bistro and Bar on Saturday, August 31, at 8:00!  You are invited!  All you have to do is call 859-259-2754 and reserve your table…and then show up, ready to party.  With our luck, it’ll be 95 degrees and we’ll be forced to wear sleeveless midriff shirts and Daisy Dukes.  Ugh.  But then again, who the heck cares?

Here’s something we do care about, though:  The Girl Project.  (http://www.thegirlprojectusa.org.)

The brainchild of our gal pals Ellie Clark and Vanessa Becker Weig, The Girl Project is an offshoot of Kentucky Conservatory Theatre.  17 cool BITS (Bats In Training) have spent the past year or so developing a script about what it is to be a teenage girl today.  They’ve been exploring and expressing how they feel about body issues, peer pressure, and all the stuff of which teenage angst is made.  We are happy and proud to participate in Girl Project Weekend!  Go see the remarkable show these girls have put together at the Downtown Arts Center, August 30 to September 1 at 7:30.  Of course, you can’t see it on August 31, because you’ll be spending that night with THE BATS, so check out the web site above for more details, or just go ahead and buy tickets at http://lexarts.tix.com.  Some of The Girl Project Girls will stop by Natasha’s after their show to meet and greet you, too!  How cool is that?

And speaking of cool teenage girls, don’t be surprised if Kim’s adorable daughter Katie shows up to sing a song or two that night!  All these youngsters are going to make us look even older, but it’ll be worth it…we think.

Dreaming of a Lifestyle Lift,

THE BATS
