Two fun and exciting zombie themed events this week as we gear up for WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE'S LAND OF THE DEAD opening May 9th.

ZOMBIE BLOOD DRIVE!

Actors Guild of Lexington Kentucky Blood Center are bringing the first-ever Zombie Blood Drive to life on Thursday, April 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Beaumont Donor Center, 3121 Beaumont Centre Circle in Lexington.

“Blood is needed in the event of accidents, illness or natural disasters, and that’s serious business. But this week, we’re having a little fun with a Zombie Blood Drive. You just never know when you’ll need blood in a Zombie Apocalypse,” said Martha Osborne, KBC’s Executive Director of Marketing and Recruitment.

Donors will have the chance to win tickets to the AGL's upcoming production of “William Shakespeare’s Land of the Dead,” an apocalyptic comedy featuring great men of history surviving against the undead with both wit and sword. Donors will also have the opportunity to be made over into zombies by AGL make-up artists.

Zombies, compliments of AGL, will mingle with donors, who will also be treated to special Zombie snacks throughout the evening.

ZOMBIE (& Shakespeare) TRIVIA!

Local Trivia Action and Patchen Pub (
153 Patchen Drive) are hosting an exciting, challenging trivia show for all you Shakespeare/Zombie buffs.

Trivia Challenge from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday 4/24 - All questions will either be Shakespeare or Zombie related. Teams can be any size, $5 entry per player (all proceeds go to AGL).

Prizes for top 3 teams and best team name will include bar cash, tickets to the show and other goodies.

A SPECIAL treat to any players who come zombified (or Shake-speared).
