Catch The Squirrels This Saturday at CCI

Lexington is blessed to be home to some world class musicians, and although they take their artistry to folks in faraway places, they sometimes play at a local venue to the delight of the hometown crowd.

So imagine how happy I was to discover a special group of virtuosos playing rather irregularly at one of my favorite watering holes. The Squirrels will once again tickle frisky fancies this Saturday, February 19, when they return to deliver their swing-style music to Chevy Chase Inn, where the drinks are cheap and the music is fabulous.

Here's one description:  "When HILLBILLY SOUL crashed into BIG BAND JAZZ, The Squirrels emerged from the cloud of dust!
Hot Western Swing - Sultry Blues - Quirky Nostalgia. They are old school mostly because they are old and they are scorching hot because they can't help it."

Don't miss this chance to hear this delightful lil hillbilly jazz band.  With guitar masters JP Pennington and Roger Bondurant -- and Wanda Barnett on the fiddle -- you can't go wrong!  This seven-piece band will blow you away with raucous renditions of cool songs like Sweet Georgia Brown and On The Street Where You Live.   All just because you're in the right place at the right time...with no cover, just fun for all.
