If you, a friend, or family member ever served in the United States military, you know how indebted we are to and how grateful we as American citizens must be for their service.
Indeed, our freedom is not free, and those who serve deserve all our appreciation, thoughts, and prayers. The good news is that there is a wonderful organization called Military Missions right here in Lexington (located in Palomar Center) who collect items to send to our troops overseas. They are putting together care packages to send out on August 18, and they are in need of supplies - personal care items like white socks to be worn under combat boots, eye drops, baby wipes, beef jerky (do ya hear me, Mingua Brothers?), tissues, foot powder...all are easy to find, inexpensive to buy, but much appreciated when received.
If you can purchase any of the items below and drop them off in their facility, I'm sure the men and women will be grateful. It's not much to ask, but again, the need is such that I have been asked to ask YOU if you would consider helping Military Missions out, so take a friend with you and ask them to contribute, too. It's an easy way to give back, beyond the yellow ribbon!
