Help Woodford Humane Help Homeless Pets

George Carlin was one of the funniest men alive, but my favorite line of his was from one of his routines when he talked about his pet.  He would say, "sometimes I feel like all the sadness in the world is in a puppy dog's eyes."  He then recalled when he would come home from a long absence, and his dog would meet him at the door, exuberantly try to hug him, and then lick him all over as if to say, "I'm so glad you're home! I'm so glad you're home! You forgot to leave that little light in the hallway on like you usually do, but I don't care, I'm just so glad you're home!"

If you have ever known how it feels to be loved by a dog, or any pet, you know that it is a wonderful feeling of being needed and wanted and adored.

There are millions of homeless pets - it is estimated that four million pets become homeless every year in our country.  Good people like the folks at Woodford Humane are putting forth their best efforts to ensure these sweet creatures find homes, homes like the one you live in, homes that deserve a loving pet.  Do you deserve a loving pet?  Then help WHS find forever places for the puppies and kitties that are waiting for you.  Read below about WHS and their event, Freedom Fest.  If you cannot attend, please consider dropping by their facility in Versailles, and just hang out with the pets...you don't HAVE to adopt one if you visit, you can just hang out with the cats in their cage-free community. You can hug a puppy.  You can show your kids how important it is to love all God's creatures.  One thing is certain - your life will be immeasurably enriched, if you do, I promise.

Hosted by a picturesque horse farm, the event features the talents of artists, culinary experts, and interior and garden designers.
