Uke Gotta Love MAKE MUSIC FOR ME

MAKE MUSIC FOR ME is IN the Derby, and INTERACTIF and ENDORSEMENT are out.  (ENDORSEMENT broke an ankle this morning during workouts, sadly.)

Back to the music, though - how great is it that another female trainer hereby steps into the spotlight?  MAKE MUSIC FOR ME's handled by Alexis Barba, who assisted in training the 1982 Kentucky Derby winner, GATO DEL SOL.  Barba is sure to be tapping her toes when the bay colt she trains for Ellen and Peter Johnson enters the Great Line Dance for Thoroughbreds at Churchill Downs this Saturday.

Jockey Joel Rosario will be aboard MAKE MUSIC FOR ME, a "smallish" bay colt who was purchased as a 2-year-old in training for only $95,000 and to-date he has earned $218,750.  Barba's strategy of bringing the horse along with a low profile just might pay off as this little guy with the big stride (and even bigger appetite) enters the starting gate to run for the roses.

What I like about this horse:  He has not been raced ragged and enters the race as a healthy runner.  Also, his trainer would become the first lady to win the Derby in that role; he also has in his pedigree (on the Dam's side) Epsom Derby winner THE MINSTREL as well as Triple Crown Winner SEATTLE SLEW.

*sorry but my blog is not uploading pix like I want today...boo!
