I admit it. I throw all reason out the window when it comes to betting on Thoroughbreds. Sometimes I will wager on an entry merely due to the name of a horse, i.e., 2009 Derby contender CHOCOLATE CANDY - after all, who doesn't like chocolate candy?
While the media focus is mostly upon this year's crop of 3-year-old colts, there is a filly who might be in contention come Derby Day, and she has a glorious name: AMEN HALLELUJAH.
She is the first starter out of multiple stakes winner SARA'S SUCCESS, by CONCORDE'S TUNE...AMEN HALLELUJAH improved to four wins by winning the Grade II Davona Dale Stakes today at Gulfstream Park. She now has prevailed in
four of eight starts, earning more than $312,370.
Amen.
and
Hallelujah.
