We all use a little grace today, and after Monday's open discussion about one of our most beloved theatre groups, I feel as if Lexington is surely graced with a number of talented and devoted people who want to do what's right.
Last night, I attended a meeting of thoughtful folks who are concerned about the status of Actors Guild of Lexington. The meetings are continuing this week and next, and offer an opportunity for anyone in attendance to voice their concerns and provide insight to the Board and the administrative staff of AGL.

Managing Director Kim Shaw, Associate Artistic Director Eric Seale and Board of Trustees President Jennifer Miller will attend every session. Other AGL board members may also be present. The next meeting is Wednesday night at the Library. I would encourage you, if you have something to say about our community theatre, to go to one of these and join in the constructive conversation that has begun.
With all the talk that is going on around town about the future of AGL, there are apparently many who want their voice to be heard. This forum lends a receptive ear to those issues that are near and dear to local actors, directors, crew, producers, sponsors, and theatre-goers.
Last night, BCTC Theatre and Film Coordinator, Tim X. Davis attended the meeting and brought some exciting and new ideas to the table. Davis also asked for clarification about certain issues, shared his perspective with the group and by his participation, left us with a hopeful feeling that AGL will continue to provide quality theatre to the Lexington community for a long time to come.
Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks as the Board of Directors of Actors Guild of Lexington analyzes the finances and works with Eric Seale and Kim Shaw to decide exactly the best approach and avenues to take in the coming months.
There were some intriguing ideas tossed around last night, and I am profoundly impressed at the open discussion we had.

The Board and the management of AGL is willing to listen to your ideas, opinions, answer questions and feedback, so if you are one of those who feel as if your voice has not yet been heard. Check out the schedule and contact Jennifer Miller so you can sign up for one of the three remaining meetings!

Here's the AGL invitation:
